homeward bound

well, it's about time for us to share our news.

we've officially (and finally) decided where we're going for my 4th year externship

i had an offer to go to boise, idaho and was really looking forward to it.

but then i got an offer at an ENT office in SLC

family + friends + great place to work for + awesome people to work with + possible long-term job offer + the opportunity to start up a pediatric program = hard to pass up

more things to do + better places to shop + no more driving back and forth = icing on the cake

slc friends... get ready to see a whole lot more of us!

strawberry delights

we had a little girls night last night at chana's new house

it's super cute and it was fun to catch up with my girlies.

chana made some delightful little cheesecake treats

and tonight when i had a little sweet-tooth craving, i decided to recreate them.

best dessert ever.  easiest dessert ever.  thanks chana for sharing the goodness.

#1- purchase some strawberries, a pie crust, and philadelphia cheesecake filling

#2- hollow out the berries

*not pictured* (oops)- fill berries with filling using piping bag 

#3- dip in crushed up pie crust

#4- either drizzle or dip in chocolate/white chocolate

#5- devour

i had a few realizations tonight while creating these little delicacies 

• lately i have posted more on this blog about food/eating than anything else
• i don't own a piping bag and use a ziploc sandwich bag to drizzle the chocolate on my berries.  if my mom knew, she'd hang her head in shame :)
• i need to start using my real camera rather than always using my iphone to document my life
• i haven't posted about mexico yet.  or laura's wedding.  or shared with the world what our future plans are
• winter needs to be over with... like right now
• we're heading to cali in 3 short weeks
• i decided photobooths at a wedding are now a must.  

case in point:

proceeds from this event will go to help buy supplies, equipment, and cover travel expenses for our upcoming trip to vietnam...

we'll be providing hearing and early intervention services to children,  parents, and teachers in vietnam.

feb 14th

things have been a little crazy around here

with my impromtu trip to mexico (more on that later)

tying up loose ends at school

my sister's wedding this week

i feel like josh and i have been running around with our heads cut off

lucky for us, we got to spend valentines day together with two of our besties (katie and rj)

the boys wanted meat so what better choice than a brazilian grill, gaucho grill?

i sure am lucky to be married to josh

with our crazy schedules, we don't spend as much time together as i'd like

but hopefully that will change soon

so it sure was nice having a night to spend together

happy valentines day!

checklist

like most people, i sure do like when i can check things off my "to-do" list

especially school-related things

things like:

research paper written- done

research project defense- done

research project poster created for upcoming ehdi conference and cochlear implant conference- done

find a 4th year- done (more to come on that)

comps- done (i officially passed everything yesterday... we went out to celebrate!)

praxis- done (just waiting till the 8th to get my score)

research paper printed, bound, and placed in the library to gather dust for the next 20 years- done

still on the list:

get research paper published

take a vacation!
