she's vain (she loves staring at herself in the mirror)
she's hyper, but not too hyper
she's great at giving kisses
she's a good dog...
but boy, is she dumb!
she hasn't completely mastered the whole potty training thing.
she is trained for the most part, but if we leave her during the day,
she pretty much freaks out
and poops and pees
we are sick and tired of cleaning up her poop and pee
so we bought her a doggie door hoping it would solve the problem
but our dumb dog cannot for the life of her figure out how it works
we've tried everything
begging
whistling
clapping
bribery
luring
forcing her through the door

forcing her through the door
nothing has worked so far and it is so frustrating!
like i said, she is adorable, but looks sure can be deceiving!

I am sure you guys will figure it out. Although, my Grandma has a Shitzu? and he still isn't potty trained after 9 years! He is really dumb. I am sure you guys will get her trained like an angel.
That is hilarious!! My dad and Cort's dog is afraid of her dog door.......maybe Tess is a little timid! She is however darling!!! Try to look at it this way......when it comes time to potty train a kid, you will (hopefully) be a pro!
Maybe you should buy one of those grass patch thing they have on commercials......I can't remember what it is call, but it is kind of like a litter box for dogs that looks like grass. It's kinda weird, but might work!

Is she a shih tzu? (However you spell that). My family used to have one and you're right. They're not the smartest dogs, but boy are they cute and cuddly!!!
my friend has a shih tzu and they can't leave him alone with him knowing. i've heard that it's because they need a lot of affection and attention, and when they're alone they freak. and poop and pee because of either anxiety, or because they know it'll get your attention when you get back! lol good luck. you might have to do what they do (at night anyway...) they pretend like they're going to bed, put him in his kennel, turn out the lights, get in bed, and lay for a min. then sneak out on the other side and pad their bed with pillows to make it look like they're there. sad. and pathetic in my opinion haha.

She is a pretty cute dog! Our Shih Tzu is also not the sharpest tool in the shed. Potty Training is pretty rough - and ours eats her poop! It makes me want to vomit.
